Years of planning and last moment cancellation, the stress we all have been through when someone says "tu abhi tak Goa nahi gaye" (you have never been to Goa) finally ended. Hurray!! So landed in Goa with my friends and there was a sense of accomplishment like we have finally done it the TRIP to Goa. I and my friends are total foodies so from the airport, we headed to a beach restaurant called Souza Lobo on Calangute beach, recommendation by friend's brother. We had candlelight dinner with tiring faces sipping the Feni which tasted like the sarku (white color kind of alcohol sold in villages) also we tried to capture the Dil Chahta Hai shadow picture. By the time we reached our Air BnB, it was late after 12:00, yet we craved for the desserts. Our host suggested a nearby cafe which is open 24/7. Cafe Cotinga, Tamarind Hotel Boutique hotel. 9 days 15 people on a journey from strangers to friends.
We all gathered at Guwahati airport. Some people knew each other and there we solo travelers all came together for a trip that formed new friendships and memories.
A backpacking trip to a part of North-East India, Meghalaya and Assam. As they say its not about the destination its the journey that counts. The highlight of the trip was everyone had come with one goal to enjoy every second before going back to the routine life.
Food and music was the bonding agent between us. We had guys clicking more pics then girls, while girls ready to explore every inch of the haunted-looking resort at night we stayed in Kaziranga.
A trek to the living root bridge helped us to know each other better as we trekked with a different member from the group every time we had a pit stops.
With each step thought of going back lingered but the thought did not let our spirits down to go witness a sight that took our breath away and we thanked to be there at that moment.
Everyone being foodie we explored the local food with our stay in a homestay in Shillong and ate at residents' place who invited to our place and talked about the life on island while the food was cooked in front of us. Apong homemade rice beer with Koma Saul rice and bamboo chicken curry was a dinner to die for.

At that moment everyone had one thought " It was worth the Trek". The very next moment every one of us was in the water though we couldn't feel our feet in the cold water. A swim worth once in a lifetime.
We relaxed our sore feet while basking in the warm borne fire where the nights would make its way early. We talked about life, about the ghost stories, food, music.
